About the Department

The Department of Pharmacology teaches medicines, their actions, uses, side effects and safe prescribing. It prepares students for rational drug therapy and patient safety. Pharmacology is essential for all future doctors because every clinical department requires proper knowledge of drugs.

Course Details

The course includes general pharmacology, autonomic drugs, cardiovascular drugs, antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, CNS drugs, endocrine drugs, chemotherapy and emergency medicines. Students also learn prescription writing, dosage calculation, adverse drug reactions and drug interactions.
