About the Department

The Department of Pathology teaches the causes and mechanisms of diseases. It explains how normal cells, tissues and organs change during illness. Pathology is a bridge between basic sciences and clinical medicine and is one of the most important subjects in the MBBS program.

Course Details

The course includes general pathology, inflammation, cell injury, healing, tumors, hematology, systemic pathology and organ-based diseases. Students study slides, specimens, case discussions, laboratory reports and disease mechanisms. This subject helps students understand diagnosis, prognosis and treatment planning.
