About the Department

The Department of Anatomy provides the foundation of medical education by teaching the structure of the human body. Students learn gross anatomy, histology, embryology and neuroanatomy with the help of anatomical models, charts, digital resources and practical demonstrations. In the MBBS system followed in Kyrgyzstan, Anatomy is one of the most important basic medical science subjects during the early semesters because it prepares students for clinical subjects such as Surgery, Medicine, Radiology and Obstetrics.

Course Details

The course includes upper limb, lower limb, thorax, abdomen, pelvis, head and neck, nervous system, microscopic anatomy and developmental anatomy. Students attend lectures, practical classes, demonstrations, viva sessions and periodic assessments. Clinical correlation is also added so students understand the importance of anatomy in diagnosis, surgery, imaging and patient examination.
